- Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you’ll be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel.
- Explore the National Museum (Ta Dzong), housing artifacts dating back to 4000 BC.
- Overnight stay in Paro.
- After breakfast, drive to the base of Taktsang Monastery, perched dramatically 900 meters above Paro Valley.
- Hike to this sacred pilgrimage site, a highlight of any Bhutanese adventure.
- Enjoy lunch at Taktsang Cafeteria.
- In the evening, experience a traditional farm dinner followed by a relaxing soak in a stone bath.
- Enjoy breakfast before a scenic drive towards Drugyel Dzong.
- Your trek begins at Sharna Zampa, situated 2580 meters above sea level.
- Follow the Paro Chhu (River) with stunning views of paddy fields, apple orchards, and traditional Bhutanese houses.
- Pass the army post at Gunitsawa (2810 meters) for permit checks.
- Ascend to Sharna Zampa (2870 meters) for your overnight stay amidst meadows.
- The trail ascends and descends along the Paro Chhu, reaching Shingkharap, a stone house at 3110 meters.
- Take a junction and follow the latter route to reach your campsite at 3750 meters.
- Trek through lush greenery, reaching an army camp and following the rivers to stunning mountain peaks.
- Enter yak herder country and enjoy lunch at their camp.
- Pass Soe, Takethang, and Dangochang village before reaching Jangothang base camp at 4040 meters.
- Capture breathtaking views of Jomolhari and Jichu Drake from your campsite.
- Embark on a 4-hour off-trail hike up an open slope for panoramic views of Jichu Drake (6989 meters).
- Optional further hike to 4895 meters for an even more spectacular panorama of Jomolhari.
- Spot wildlife such as blue sheep and golden eagles.
- Continue trekking with views of Jomolhari, Jichu Drake, and Tshering Gang.
- Cross a flat plain before reaching Ngye La Pass (4700 meters).
- Enjoy panoramic views of Lingshi Dzong, a former defense station, where you’ll camp for the night.
- Here, the Laya-Gasa route diverges from the Jomolhari trek.
- Descend to a chorten and trek to Yele La Pass (4820 meters) for views of Jomolhari, Gangchen Ta, Tshering Gang, and Masang Gang.
- Camp overnight in Shodu (4100 meters).

- Cross Thimphu Chhu and make a final climb for an hour to reach your campsite at 3710 meters.
- Descend along the trail, meeting Thimphu Chhu and passing through dense forest.
- Camp overnight at Dolam Kencho.
- Enjoy a morning walk to Dodena, where you’ll meet your vehicle.
- Take a short 30-minute drive to Thimphu and check into your hotel for relaxation.
